Where to play in Newcastle upon Tyne

Newcastle upon Tyne gives a self-booking musician a broad set of rooms to work with. The city's listings here run from theatres and concert venues through to clubs, cultural centres, event venues, live bars, community halls and pubs, so the same act can pitch a seated evening, a late club slot or a small bar show. Venues such as Northern Stage, The Cluny, Boiler Shop, Alphabetti Theatre and Little Buildings sit at different points on that scale, and each keeps its own booking habits, capacity and audience. Our database gathers the contact details behind those rooms: booker names where we have them, email addresses and phone numbers. Approaching a promoter directly lets you explain your project, your draw and your dates in your own words, rather than waiting to be found. Research the room first, be realistic about what you bring, and keep a record of every reply.
